I originally trained as a goldsmith and jewellery designer at Sir John Cass School of Art in Whitechapel, London. My interests still remain with three-dimensional form, craftsmanship, and detail.
These days I work mainly in the mediums of drawing, painting, and photography, with occasional forays into sculpture, each of which informs the others. However, I often find that the evocation of space, mass and depth through drawing can be as effective as the depiction of it through sculpture and photography.
In my drawings and paintings, therefore I strive to express the idea of form occupying and existing in space. It often feels like I'm sculpting in two dimensions, as I tease the sense of solidity and depth from a two dimensional surface.
